Hanks brings 25 years of creative design and direction to the branding & marketing firm

KANSAS CITY, Mo., March 12, 2020—Novella Brandhouse, a women-owned branding and marketing firm specializing in scaling and established businesses added a familiar collaborator to their permanent team. Skeet Hanks stepped into the role of Creative Director in February of this year and continues to lead the team in creative design, advertising, ideation, art direction, and web development. 

Skeet brings an immense amount of experience to Novella, all served with the flair of his professed hometown of New Orleans. As Novella’s clientele continues to expand beyond state lines, Skeet has helped secure partnerships and clients from around the country. 

In addition to creating award-winning campaigns for brands including Popeye’s Fried Chicken, French Market Corporation, Harrah’s Casinos, Abita Brewing Company, and Deanie’s Seafood, he has been a direct consultant on the marketing plans for many others. Over the years, he has won over 30 ADDY awards for his work, including two Best of Print awards, eight BMA Fountain Awards, and a gold sticker from his 1st-grade teacher for keeping quiet in class…once. An accomplished musician, he has written advertising scores and theme songs for companies including Boudreaux’s Jewelers and Keep Louisiana Beautiful.

As part of the Novella team, Skeet works with clients creating cohesive brands through compelling storytelling that works both online and off. Skeet develops visual branding along with designing websites that are as beautiful as they are functional. 

It’s also not beneath him to wear a dog costume, he did it for the New Orleans Saints for nine years, as Gumbo, the beloved St. Bernard.

The Novella team is ecstatic about this addition, which seems only natural as the award-winning company continues to grow.

About Gumbo the St. Bernard 

Gumbo is the mascot of the New Orleans Saints football team and is a cartoonish version of a Saint Bernard dog that wears the number 00. It was the Louisiana Restaurant Association’s gift to the Saints and is named after the famous Louisiana dish of the same name, which is beloved by people of all backgrounds, much like the New Orleans Saints football team.
