Chicken N Pickle isn't easy to categorize. They're an entertainment venue and a chef-driven restaurant all in one. They’re a community gathering space, a pickleball destination, and a corporate event host. As their expansion into new markets coincided with mounting competition, they confronted a classic scaling challenge: maintaining a consistent story while communicating it across more channels and audiences than ever before.
That's where Novella Brandhouse came in. We partnered with Chicken N Pickle to develop a unified brand positioning and messaging strategy that could travel across locations and channels while capturing everything that makes Chicken N Pickle unique.

The Challenge
With multiple locations and more on the horizon, Chicken N Pickle needed a brand voice that would feel just as alive on a website as it did walking through the front door.
The deeper challenge was a positioning one. In a crowded eatertainment landscape, the temptation is often to pick a lane: food or entertainment, restaurant or venue. But Chicken N Pickle's greatest strength is the full breadth of what they offer, and they needed a way to say that clearly, confidently, and without alienating audiences.

Our Solution
We started with a deep dive into CNP's competitive landscape to understand exactly where they stood and where the white space was. We studied their target customers across demographics, mapping their behaviors, motivations, and what actually drives them to choose CNP on any given night. From that research, we built out detailed audience personas: real-world portraits of the families, young professionals, and corporate planners that CNP aimed to communicate with.
Through this exercise, one thing became abundantly clear: Chicken N Pickle's greatest strength is the sum of all they offer. A parent can bring their kids for an afternoon of cornhole and yard games. A company can host an event and serve guests food that actually impresses them. A youth baseball team can turn a post-tournament evening into a team bonding experience. The menu isn't bar food; it's chef-driven, from-scratch cooking that earns a place in the weekly dinner rotation, not just on special occasions.
That realization gave us our line:
"It's not one thing. It's everything."
From that foundation, we developed a full strategic value proposition, a brand promise to hang their hats on, and brand messaging, giving Chicken N Pickle and every one of their locations the same north star to build from. We defined their brand voice as upbeat, inclusive, and ‘always game.’ This gave the internal team a shared reference point not just for what to say, but how to say it.
We rounded out the engagement with a comprehensive marketing plan, mapping where and how Chicken N Pickle should show up to reach their audiences most effectively, along with creative direction to help internal teams implement the campaign consistently without losing the local feel of each Chicken N Pickle location.
