Kansas City’s Very Own DIY Publishing Extravaganza

We were able to feed our inner 90s kid at the 3rd Annual KC Zine Con this weekend. Tons of authors, poets, and illustrators filled El Torreon with their vulnerable writings, colorful and cheeky artwork, and other cool things like stickers and free instructables. Our Content Strategist Madelynne and Graphic Designer Lauren were able to drool over some great content and get inspiration for a *hopefully* upcoming Novella zine-inspired publication.

We picked up an illustrated children’s book, a collection of old amusement park/entertainment signs compiled by Dustin Williams of SorrySorryTown, drooled over Lauren Seider’s Yellow Raincoat Society magazine, picked up a mixed tape for dogs, and even snagged an event poster with some chubby cherubs on it.

If you get a chance to go next year to the KC Zine Con, or any zine con in general, you should! You’ll probably find us there.
